Scott McClellan held his usual daily White House Press briefing today. In today's nonsense edition, he non-addresses Harriet's religion.

I wonder why they even have these press briefings? There is nothing authentic about it. At best, the White House simple uses the press corpse to amplify it's spin of the day. At worst, the press simply slops up distortions, misinformation and on-the-other-handisms for wide publication.

There was a time when access to the President's press secretary for a daily briefing resulted in genuine information being disseminated to the public. Now it's simply a process to inseminate the press corps with garbage.

Maybe it's time the press boycott?
