Harriet Boils the Right
Well, Harriet, the blogosphere is lit up with angry, whining reactions, mostly by the right. And boy, is the pot boiling. You can read some examples here, here, and here to name just a few. The usual wingnuts are coming positively unscrewed.
Apparently Limbaugh has jumped shipped too. And as Billmon says, this puts him at considerably greater riding height.
As with Roberts, I don't think anyone knows what this gal is gonna be like as a SCOTUS. Harry Reid gave a tacit approval to her and Schumer said something along the lines of it couldn've been alot worse. Sounds more like someone about to be hanged and the rope broke. But will we be re-hung?
In the scheme of things, maybe it could have been worse. What I find much more interesting is the shock and surprise by the hard right. When in the world has the GOP ever delivered to them? With all the ballyhooing (incorrectly incidently) that the religious right delivered the election for Bush in 2004, they have yet to really be rewarded....again.... This is so predictable that it's actually getting pathetic to watch them get all fired up during each election cycle. It's like watching someone being played for 52 card pick-up every year into their 80's.
I predicted after the 2004 election that there would likely be a hard right Christian conservative candidate in 2008. The interesting part of this prediction is that this candidate would not be a Republican or a Democrat. It seems that a sense of entitlement, a delusional sense of power, and anger at having been ignored would make conditions ripe for just such a candidate.
I sure...do...hope...so!

And I do love to watch the religious right playing 52 card pickup.....again.
